Best Travel Blankets For Airplane – 2018 Edition

Carry-On Luggage Hacks

If you are considering flying for your travels, you have to know the art of packing your carry-on. You would be surprised by how much junk a lot of people bring when they are travelling. To be honest, if you are travelling for a week or two, you don’t need anything more than a carry-on suitcase.

As long as you have the essentials and things you ACTUALLY need, you can get by fairly easily. Packing your bag neatly and organizing them can go a long way. Make sure to put the things you need the least out of reach and things you most likely will need, easy to reach.

Why You need to Bring A Travel Blanket

You never know if your flight is going to get delayed or whether the airline is going to give you blanket during the flight. It’s always better to be prepared than praying and hoping. For long hour flights at high altitudes, the plane can get really cold!

If you’re also going to be travelling by train or bus as well, then you definitely need a travel blanket to keep you warm.

Travel blankets don’t necessarily have to be bulky or that big. Technology and innovation has allowed ultra thin and moist-free blankets that retain heat very well.

Cocoon CoolMax Blanket (BlueMax)
  • Measures 55"x70"
  • Ultra compact and lightweight Travel Blanket
  • The CoolMax Travel Blanket is the perfect companion on planes, trains, in your car and at home.

This would be my top recommendation for people who are serious about travelling and making a worthy investment. While it’s a bit pricier than other travel blankets, it has a lot of cool features.

From keeping you moisture free, if you happen to get sweaty, to acting as a great insulator, if you happen to get cold, the Coolmax travel blanket is the best blend between portability and functionality. **It’s machine washable, so in case it does get dirty, you have no problem washing it.

You don’t necessarily have to only use it during flights, but you can use it somewhat as a robe during cool nights, train or bus rides, and overall give you a warm comforting feeling during chilly weather.

The size measures 55″ in width and 70″ in length, so it’s perfect for average to somewhat taller people. You can’t go wrong with this choice, because the reviews are mostly positive because the Cocoon Coolmax travel blanket is immensely versatile.

Sizes range from short to tall individuals, so you have options. The Robe can also turn into a pillow for lumbar or neck support in case you don’t necessarily need a blanket.

The only thing about this product is the funny appearance. It’s like wearing a gown, so you do need to be comfortable with looking a bit silly, but you’re travelling, so people will understand.

  • Size: 60"x40" (LxW),Weight:0.68LB.
  • Features: Cozy and soft, Machine washable and no fade, pill resistant, neat sewn edges
  • You Get More: The throw blanket comes with a Drawstring bag, anti-dust and waterproof!

This is the blanket I personally have and carry it with me during my travels. It’s compact and thin, but it does a great job of retaining heat.

It’s fairly cheap, but the quality is outstanding. The Forestfish can practically used for many purposes such as going outside during chilly nights, using it as a throw when watching the tellie, or as a blanket for taking a nap. Of course, most importantly, you can use it to keep warm during flights, train and bus rides.

The few downsides are that it can absorbs moisture easily and can end up smelling badly if you don’t wash it, and it’s a bit short. However, it’s perfect for someone who’s looking for something compact.

**This is fully machine washable and easy to reuse as well.

How to Keep Your Blankets Clean

These products wick moisture very easily, so you need to keep it away from moisture as much as possible. They retain heat very well, so if you have yourself covered head to toe, you could end up sweating.

It’s always best to leave some breathing room and ventilation when using any of these products. If you are sweating while you are using it, the smell and odor can be absorbed, so PLEASE keep it away from moisture as much as possible.

In case you do get it dirty, you can easily wash it though, so that’s always a plus.
